Women and children should never have to give up their privacy in order to receive help. Helping Hand Liberia publishes what a sponsor needs in order to decide, and nothing more.
Never published
- Names of individual beneficiaries, including children
- Photographs that identify a child or a vulnerable individual
- Home addresses or GPS coordinates of a household
- Personal telephone numbers or email addresses
- Medical records, diagnoses or clinical history
- Financial circumstances of a household
- Case notes, verifier reports or internal correspondence
Always published
- What the need is, in plain language
- The county where the need is located
- The beneficiary group and the number of people who will benefit
- The amount required, the amount received and the amount remaining
- The verification status and the date verification was completed
- How the support will be delivered and by what kind of vendor
- What evidence will be required before the case can be closed
What a listing looks like in practice
The public sees: safe clinic transport required for 20 pregnant women in Montserrado County. The public does not see their names, telephone numbers, medical records or home addresses.
Safeguarding principles
Show the need, not the person
A listing describes what is required and who it will help as a group. It does not turn a woman, a child or a family into advertising material.
Consent is recorded, not assumed
No photograph or personal account of a beneficiary is published without recorded authorization, and consent can be withdrawn at any time.
Evidence is tiered, not broadcast
Delivery proof is released in tiers: public summary, sponsor-visible detail, and sensitive material held only by authorized officers.
No pity, no pressure
Language and imagery are factual. Support is invited on the strength of verification and evidence, not on emotional pressure.
